IEC 62443 is the international standard series for securing industrial automation and control systems (IACS) — the PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, SCADA servers and engineering workstations that run plants, pipelines, utilities and manufacturing lines. As Saudi industry expands across energy, water, petrochemicals, mining and manufacturing, IEC 62443 readiness is increasingly written into tenders, vendor qualifications, supply-chain audits and operator requirements — and it sits alongside the National Cybersecurity Authority's OT controls for critical infrastructure operators in the Kingdom.
