How to set up email on your domain

One click in the Skyline Cloud portal publishes everything your domain needs for professional email — MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC — plus Outlook and Apple Mail auto-setup.

Skyline Cloud gives your domain professional, Exchange-compatible email — Outlook, mobile, and webmail — without you needing to understand DNS. This article shows how to turn email on for a domain you manage in the Skyline Cloud portal.

Before you start

  • Your domain's DNS should be hosted with Skyline. Point your registrar's nameservers to ns1.alskyline.com and ns2.alskyline.com from the DNS → Pointing page in the portal.
  • You don't need to know any IP addresses — everything Skyline publishes is by name.

Set up email in one click

  1. In the portal, open DNS and choose the domain (zone) you want email on.
  2. Click Set up email (it's also available inside the Add record popup, under the Email option).
  3. That's it — Skyline publishes the full, standards-compliant set of records for you.

What gets published

  • MXmail.alskyline.com — routes your incoming mail to Skyline.
  • SPFv=spf1 include:_spf.alskyline.com -all — declares Skyline as the only legitimate sender for your domain.
  • DKIM → published at skyline._domainkey — cryptographically signs your outgoing mail so receivers can trust it.
  • DMARC → published at _dmarc — tells receivers to enforce SPF and DKIM, stopping spoofers.
  • Autodiscover (SRV + CNAME) — lets Outlook and Apple Mail configure themselves automatically.

Together, MX + SPF + DKIM + DMARC are the recognised standard for professional business email — the same protection the major providers use.

Create your mailboxes

With DNS in place, create mailboxes under Mailboxes in the portal. Each mailbox can sign in to:

  • Webmail at https://mail.alskyline.com/web (supports two-factor authentication).
  • Outlook or mobile — add the account and the autodiscover records configure it for you.

Verifying it works

DNS changes take a little time to propagate. Check the status of SPF, DKIM and DMARC on the domain's Email authentication page in the portal. Once they show as verified, send yourself a test message from another provider (such as Gmail) and confirm it arrives and is marked as authenticated.
