Saudi Arabia's rail network is one of the most ambitious in the region — SAR's freight and passenger lines, the North Train running on ETCS Level 2 across thousands of kilometres, the Haramain high-speed line and the Riyadh Metro. Trains move on signalling and operational systems, but stations, depots and command centres run on conventional IT and ELV that must be every bit as reliable. Skyline designs, supplies and integrates the non-signalling IT/OT estate: station networks, passenger information displays, fare-collection connectivity, surveillance, public address and the telecoms backbone that ties stations to control centres.

Rail is a textbook converged environment. Operational technology — SCADA for power, ventilation, tunnel systems and platform-screen doors — sits alongside passenger Wi-Fi, ticketing and retail. We engineer segmented, redundant architectures so a fault or attack in one domain can't cascade into another, with trackside and tunnel connectivity, depot networks for maintenance systems, and IoT sensors for asset condition monitoring on critical infrastructure.

Because rail operators rely on industrial control systems and serve critical national infrastructure, they fall within the NCA's OTCC-1:2022 scope. We build OT/IT zoning, ICS-aware firewalls, secure remote access for maintenance vendors, and a control-to-corporate DMZ to support that compliance posture. Stations and depots also benefit from integrated CCTV analytics, passenger counting, access control and perimeter protection feeding a unified transport command centre.
