Fire Suppression System - SABIC

SABIC's industrial complex in Jubail required a complete overhaul of its fire suppression infrastructure across 5 production buildings. The existing systems were 15+ years old, with outdated detection technology and non-compliant suppression agents. The challenge was executing the upgrade while maintaining full production — SABIC could not afford any facility shutdown. Additionally, the solution needed to meet both Saudi Civil Defense standards and SABIC's own enhanced HSE requirements.

SKYLINE implemented a multi-zone fire suppression system using NFPA-compliant wet sprinkler systems for general areas, FM-200 clean agent systems for electrical rooms and control rooms, and foam-based suppression for chemical storage areas. We installed VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) laser-based detection across all zones for sub-second fire detection. The entire installation was executed in phases during planned maintenance windows, with temporary fire watch protocols maintaining safety during transitions.

Zero fire incidents since installation — maintaining a perfect safety record across all 5 buildings. Detection-to-suppression time reduced from 120+ seconds to under 15 seconds. The system passed Saudi Civil Defense inspection and SABIC's internal HSE audit with zero findings. Annual maintenance costs decreased by 35% due to modern, reliable components replacing the aging infrastructure.
