SCADA System for Saudi Aramco

Saudi Aramco required a comprehensive SCADA system to monitor and control operations across three geographically dispersed oil & gas facilities in the Eastern Province. The existing legacy systems were fragmented, with each facility running incompatible protocols, creating blind spots in real-time monitoring and delaying incident response times to over 45 minutes. The system needed to integrate with existing DCS and ESD safety systems without any production downtime during migration.

SKYLINE deployed a unified SCADA architecture using Schneider Electric ClearSCADA with redundant servers at each facility and a centralized master station. We implemented OPC UA bridging to connect legacy Modbus and Allen-Bradley PLCs without hardware replacement. The migration was executed in three phases over 12 months, with zero production downtime achieved through hot-standby failover configurations. Custom HMI dashboards were built for operators, supervisors, and management with role-based access controls aligned to Aramco's cybersecurity standards.

The unified SCADA system now monitors over 12,000 I/O points across all three facilities from a single control room. Incident response time dropped from 45+ minutes to under 8 minutes. The system achieved 99.9% uptime in its first year of operation, and Aramco reported a 28% reduction in unplanned maintenance through early anomaly detection enabled by the new trending and alarming capabilities.
