Occupational Health & Safety Policy

Safety first — on every site, every day

Last Updated: April 10, 2026 · v1.0 · Aligned with ISO 45001

1. Our Safety Commitment

Safety is a core value at SKYLINE. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, visitors, and the communities where we operate. Our goal is zero injuries and zero incidents. We align with ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, international OSHA standards, and Saudi regulations (Civil Defense, General Directorate of Civil Defense).

2. Core Principles

  • All injuries and occupational illnesses are preventable
  • Every employee is responsible for safety — their own and colleagues'
  • Working safely is a condition of employment
  • Managers are accountable for the safety of their teams
  • Employees have the right to refuse unsafe work without penalty
  • Safety training is mandatory and continuous

3. Saudi Arabia-Specific Precautions

Given Saudi Arabia's unique climate and industrial environment, we apply special precautions:

  • Heat Stress Protection: Adherence to MHRSD midday work ban (12:00-15:00) during hot months (June-September)
  • PPE: Free PPE: helmets, goggles, gloves, safety boots, ear protection, high-visibility clothing
  • Water Access: Clean, cool drinking water at all sites
  • Emergency Response: Evacuation plans, assembly points, trained first-aid teams

4. Risk Assessment & Prevention

We apply the Hierarchy of Controls methodology:

  1. Eliminate the hazard where possible
  2. Substitute with less hazardous alternatives
  3. Engineering controls (barriers, ventilation, automated systems)
  4. Administrative controls (procedures, schedules, training)
  5. Personal Protective Equipment (last line of defense)

5. Training & Competency

All employees receive basic safety training before starting work. Specialized training is required for high-risk activities (confined space, working at heights, electrical, welding). Emergency response drills are conducted every 6 months. All electrical equipment is SASO-certified.

6. Incident Reporting & Investigation

All incidents, injuries, and near-misses must be reported within 24 hours via the electronic reporting system. All incidents are investigated to identify root cause and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Lessons learned are shared across the Company.

7. Occupational Health

  • Annual medical checkups for all employees
  • Comprehensive health insurance (required by Saudi law)
  • Mental health programs and employee support
  • Monitoring of noise, vibration, and chemical exposure
  • Smoking cessation and wellness programs

8. Client Site Safety

When working at client sites (including Aramco and SABIC facilities), we comply with their safety standards in addition to our own. We provide pre-task briefings, work permits, and continuous safety supervision.
