If you run a business in Saudi Arabia and your domain, website or email is still parked on GoDaddy, you have probably noticed the pattern: a low first-year price, then a renewal invoice that quietly doubles. Servers sit in the United States or Europe, support answers in English on a North American clock, and your customer data lives nowhere near the Kingdom. Skyline Cloud is the local alternative — Saudi-hosted infrastructure in Riyadh, native Arabic support, and flat pricing in Saudi Riyals. Best of all, we do the move for you. Leave GoDaddy without the headache: we handle the domain transfer, SSL and email migration for free.

Why Saudi businesses are leaving GoDaddy in 2026
Three frustrations come up again and again from KSA owners:
- Renewal price shocks. That headline promotional rate is for year one only. When the renewal lands, hosting, the domain, and an SSL certificate you assumed was included can each jump in price — and the bill arrives in US dollars, exposed to exchange-rate swings.
- Distant servers, slow pages. When your hosting lives in Phoenix or Amsterdam, every page request makes a long round trip. For visitors in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam, that adds latency you can feel — and search engines notice it too.
- English-only support on the wrong clock. When something breaks at 2pm in Riyadh, you want help now, in Arabic, from someone who understands a Saudi business. GoDaddy's support is built for a North American audience.
- No data residency story. With PDPL now in force, "where does my data live?" is a board-level question. A US-hosted control panel is a hard answer to give your compliance team.

What you actually move when you switch
Switching feels bigger than it is. There are really only four things to bring across, and we help with each one:
- Your domain — the registration itself (e.g. yourcompany.com or yourcompany.com.sa).
- Your website — the WordPress site or static files and any uploaded media.
- Your databases — typically the MySQL database behind WordPress or your app.
- Your email — every mailbox, message and folder.
You can move all four together, or start with hosting and email and transfer the domain when the registration is ready. Nothing has to break, and nothing has to happen on the same day.
How to transfer your domain from GoDaddy, step by step
A domain transfer sounds technical but is just five steps. Our team can do this with you on a call:
- Unlock the domain. In your GoDaddy account, open the domain settings and switch off the registrar lock (sometimes labelled "Transfer Lock").
- Disable WHOIS / domain privacy temporarily so the authorisation email can reach you.
- Get the EPP / authorisation code. GoDaddy emails you this code (also called an "auth code" or "transfer key"). It is the password that proves you own the domain.
- Start the transfer on the Skyline Cloud side and paste in the EPP code. You will confirm by email.
- Approve and wait. Transfers usually complete within 5–7 days.
The 60-day lock explained: ICANN rules block a domain from transferring for 60 days after it was first registered or last transferred between registrars. If you recently moved or registered the domain, you may need to wait out that window — but you do not have to wait to move your hosting and email. We can point your website and inbox to Saudi servers immediately and complete the registrar transfer once the lock clears. (For .com.sa and .sa domains, see our guide on registering a .sa / .com.sa domain.)

Moving your website & databases to S Panel
Your hosting move happens with zero downtime because we set everything up on the new Saudi server before anything changes for your visitors.
- WordPress sites copy across cleanly — files, themes, plugins and the MySQL database. We test the staging copy first, then flip the switch.
- Free Let's Encrypt SSL is issued automatically, so your padlock and
https://keep working — no certificate to buy, ever. - Daily backups start the moment you go live, so you always have a recent restore point.
- S Panel gives you a clean, fast control panel with a built-in VS Code-style editor for files and config — far friendlier than wrestling with a legacy panel.
Because we prepare and verify everything in advance, the cutover is invisible to your customers. See how it works for WordPress hosting in Saudi Arabia.
Migrating your email from GoDaddy or Microsoft 365 to Skyline Mail
Email is the part owners worry about most — and the part we handle most carefully. Skyline Mail is included with every hosting plan (1 mailbox on Shared, 10 on Dedicated), and we migrate it without losing a single message.
- We copy every mailbox, every folder and the full message history across — nothing is left behind.
- Skyline Mail is fully Outlook-compatible via IMAP/SMTP and Exchange ActiveSync, so your team keeps using the apps they know on desktop and mobile.
- Anti-spam is included, and your webmail lives at
mail.alskyline.com. - Moving off Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 instead of GoDaddy? The process is the same — see our guides on the Google Workspace alternative and Microsoft 365 alternative for Saudi Arabia.
Need more than ten mailboxes? Standalone Skyline Mail mailboxes are available for larger teams — start the free trial to see live per-mailbox pricing for your headcount.
Saudi data residency, ZATCA, PDPL & NCA: why local hosting matters
For a Saudi business, where your data lives is no longer a detail. Skyline Cloud servers are physically in Saudi Arabia, which means:
- PDPL alignment. The Personal Data Protection Law expects you to know where personal data is processed and stored. Local hosting gives compliance a clean answer.
- NCA-aligned controls. Our platform follows National Cybersecurity Authority expectations for Saudi-operated services.
- ZATCA-friendly. Keeping invoicing and business data in-Kingdom simplifies e-invoicing and tax workflows.

Flat SAR pricing vs GoDaddy renewal surprises
Here is the real difference in your wallet. With GoDaddy, year one is cheap and year two is the shock. With Skyline Cloud, the SAR price you sign up for is the SAR price you keep — SSL, daily backups and email are bundled in, not surprise line items. No US-dollar FX risk, no "your certificate is expiring, please pay" emails, no renewal cliff. Compare honest numbers on our hosting and email bundle pricing guide.

Frequently asked questions
Will my website or email go down during the move from GoDaddy?
No. We set up and verify everything on the Saudi server first, then switch over. Email is copied message-by-message and your site is staged and tested before going live, so the cutover is invisible to your visitors and customers.
How do I get my EPP / auth code from GoDaddy?
In your GoDaddy account, open the domain's settings, unlock the domain, disable domain privacy temporarily, and request the EPP (authorisation) code — GoDaddy emails it to you. You paste that code into Skyline Cloud to start the transfer, and our team guides you through it.
What is the 60-day transfer lock and does it block me?
ICANN blocks domain transfers for 60 days after a domain is first registered or last moved between registrars. It only affects the registrar transfer — we can move your hosting and email to Saudi servers immediately and complete the domain transfer once the lock clears.
Is SSL really free, or is it a paid add-on like on GoDaddy?
It is genuinely free. Every Skyline Cloud plan includes free Let's Encrypt SSL, issued and renewed automatically. There is never a separate certificate to buy.
Will my email still work in Outlook after moving to Skyline Mail?
Yes. Skyline Mail is fully Outlook-compatible via IMAP/SMTP and Exchange ActiveSync, on desktop and mobile, plus webmail at mail.alskyline.com. Your team keeps using the apps they already know.
What does it cost compared to GoDaddy's renewal price?
Plans are flat in Saudi Riyals: Shared 49 SAR/mo, Dedicated 119 SAR/mo, and the flagship Cloud plan 199 SAR/mo — all including free SSL, daily backups and Skyline Mail. There is no first-year discount that doubles at renewal, and no US-dollar FX risk.
